چکیده

Two field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of phosphorus level and humic acid on pea (Pisum sativum L.) yield quantity and quality, under drip irrigation system, during 2011 and 2012 seasons. Experiments were carried out in the Research and Production Station, National Research Centre, El-Nobaria Site, Beheara Governorate, Delta Egypt. Phosphorus fertilizer was applied at rates of 0, 40, 80 and 120 kgP2O5 ha -1 before planted and humic acid at three levels (0, 5 and 10%) as foliar spray. Plants were sprayed two times with humic in intervals of 30 and 45 days from sowing. The obtained results could be summarized in the following: Growth and yield parameters were significantly increased by increasing phosphorus levels. Dry weight, weight of 100 seeds and yield were significantly increased by increasing of humic acid levels. The combination between phosphorus at 80 kgP2O5 ha -1 and humic acid at rate 10% gave the highest growth and production as well as minerals composition (N, P, K, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu) and protein content compared to other treatments. Humic acid decreased soil pH and increased the availability of phosphors and micronutrients.

Role of nitrogen content of pea (Pisum sativum L.) on pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris) establishment

The leaf nitrogen content is generally accepted as an indicator of food quality and as a factor affecting host selection by phytophagous insects. The alate pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris, Aphididae) were given a choice among non-nodulated pea plants (Pisum sativum L.) supplied with one of four nitrate-N levels (0, 3, 15 and 30 mM). When whole plants were exposed to aphids for 7 days, th...

Injury, Stomatal Conductance, and Abscisic Acid Levels of Pea Plants following Ozone plus Sulfur Dioxide Exposures at Different Times of the Day.

Pea (Pisum sativum L. cv Alsweet) plants were exposed to mixtures of ozone plus sulfur dioxide at different times of the day. Injury, evaluated either as necrosis or chlorophyll, was greatest at midday when stomatal conductance was greatest. Abscisic acid levels were similar over the day, and showed no relation to stomatal conductance.

Specific parameterization of WHAM improves the prediction of copper competitive binding on plant roots

The Windermere humic aqueous model (WHAM) initially designed to model metal cation binding on humic substances were applied in predictive ecotoxicology [2]. For terrestrial higher plants, a recent investigation showed that WHAM was able to satisfactorily model cadmium (Cd), nickel (Ni), and zinc (Zn) concentrations in pea (Pisum sativum L.) roots, but that it overestimated the Cu concentration ...
